BECOME A BUCK!

The Atlanta Bucks are a diverse group of men all united by an interest in rugby. Come join us! We have two types of membership: active players and auxiliary members.

Active Players

As a player, you are required to attend practices and matches, fundraisers, and of course social events. Active players are not obligated to play in matches. Players have full voting rights and may hold offices.

Auxiliary Members

If you can't or don't want to play but still want join, become an auxiliary Buck. Auxiliary Bucks are full members of the team and participate in all social events as well as attending games and supporting the Bucks in all endeavors. Auxiliary Bucks also have full voting rights and may hold offices.

For more info on becoming an Auxiliary Buck, contact our Auxiliary Member at Large

Dues
Additional Options

The Atlanta Bucks would not be able to function without financial support from its members. Dues pay for jerseys, equipment, pitch rental, and operating and traveling expenses.

  • Dues for active players are $85 per season (two seasons per year).
  • Dues for auxiliary members are $50 per season (two seasons per year).

Rookie Info

Never played rugby? It doesn't matter. Most of us never played rugby before; we'll teach you how. Ruggers come in all shapes, sizes, and ages (but you have to be at least 18) — attend one practice and you'll see. You'll be rucking in no time.

To practice, you'll need some basic equipment:

  • Mouth guard: This is a must.
  • Water: Please bring your own bottle.

Eventually, you will need these items:

  • Rugby boots: If you don't have any, soccer cleats or sneakers will do temporarily.
  • Rugby shorts and jersey: These are specifically made to withstand the rigors of the sport. If you choose to wear regular workout gear, they may get ripped.

Try to familiarize yourself with the rules of the game. The San Francisco Fog has written a great rugby primer to get you started.
